Doping case in Italy

Italian inline speed skater and ice marathon skater Giulia Lollobrigida tested positive to the amiloride-hydrochlorothiazide-ACB substances during a doping control executed in July.

The Italian anti-doping organization (Nado Italia) announced that Giulia Lollobrigida was found positive to the amiloride-hydrochlorothiazide-ACB substances after a control by the organization at the Italian road championship last July. It still is unclear whether Lollobrigida was taking this medecine for a medical condition, to lose weight or if it was used to hide another product that could enhance her performances. 

Lollobrigida just won a silver medal in the ladies' relay and helped her sister Francesca won races at the European Championships. Nado suspended her as a precautionary measure. Two Italian cyclist also tested positive to these substances.

Cas de dopage en Italie

La patineuse de vitesse à roues alignées et de marathon sur glace Giulia Lollobrigida a été testée positive à l'amiloride hydrochlorothiazide lors lors d'un test anti-dopage réalisé en juillet.

L'Agence anti-dopage italienne (NADO) a confirmé qu'un échantillon de la patineuse de vitesse Giulia Lollobrigida recueilli lors du championnat italien s'est avéré être positif à l'amiloride hydrochlorothiazide, un diurétique utilisé pour réduire l'œdème (rétention des liquides). Cette compétition faisait office de sélection pour les Championnats d'Europe d'Oostende qui se tiennent présentement. Il n'est pas encore confirmé si Lollobrigida prenait la substance pour soigner une condition médicale, perdre du poids ou masquer l'utilisation d'une autre substance pouvant améliorer ses performances. 

La patineuse qui vient de remporter une médaille d'argent au relais sur piste avec l'équipe italienne et qui a aidé sa sœur Francesca à remporter quelques victoires aux Championnats d'Europe, a été suspendue de façon préventive par l'Agence anti-dopage italienne après la découverte du résultat. Deux cyclistes italiens ont aussi récemment testé positif à cette substance.
