Montréal and Salt Lake City to host the 2020 Four Continents championships


The International Skating Union confirmed the first two cities who were given the task of organizing the first editions of the Four continents championships in short track and long track speed skating in 2020.

Like we told you a couple of months ago in our article about new rules in short track, a new championship will join the ISU calendar next season: the Four continents championships. The eligible skaters will be coming from countries not participating in the European championships. This type of championship already exists in figure skating and now enters both the short and long track competition calendar.

The first ISU Four Continents Short Track Speed Skating Championships will take place on January 10 - 12, 2020 at the Maurice-Richard arena in Montreal, Canada.

The first ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships will take place on January 31 - February 2, 2020 at th Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, USA.
