Ariëns and Kamminga FreeWHEEL Inline Cup winners

Crispijn Ariëns and Manon Kamminga won the FreeWHEEL Inline Cup today on a wet track in Heerde.

An interesting pool of high-level athletes competed at the FreeWHEEL Inline Cup today. This regional race which usually welcomes a fairly small group of skaters benefited from being one of the first competitions of the the season after all the cancelled and postponed events. The men had to skate 60 laps of 450m while the women had to cross the finish line 45 times. 

Endurance skater Crispijn Ariëns, who already has several ice and inline marathon wins, took the victory in the men's race. Ariëns set his fast pace right from the start. Several opponents managed to follow him for a while, but Ronald Haasjes was the only skater to skate with Ariëns until the end. Ariëns won the final sprint to claim gold. Haasjes and Ruben Ligtenberg completed the podium. 

Experienced Manon Kamminga won gold in the women’s race. The 28-year-old skater took a lap ahead of her competitors early in the race to ensure her victory. Beau Wagemaker and Gerline Crediet completed the women's podium.

Ariëns et Kamminga remportent la FreeWHEEL Inline Cup

Crispijn Ariëns et Manon Kamminga ont remporté la FreeWHEEL Inline Cup sous la pluie aujourd'hui à Heerde.

Un intéressant bassin d’athlète de haut niveau était à l’oeuvre lors de la freeWHEEL Inline Cup aujourd'hui. Cette course régionale qui accueille habituellement un groupe de patineur assez restreint a bénéficié d’être l’une des premières compétitions de l’été 2020. Les hommes avaient à parcourir 60 tours de 450m alors que les femmes devaient croiser le fil d’arrivée 45 fois.

Le patineur d’endurance Crispijn Ariëns, qui a à son actif plusieurs titres de marathon sur glace et sur roues, s’est emparé de la victoire chez les hommes. Ariëns a imposé son rythme dès le départ. Plusieurs adversaires sont parvenus à le suivre un certain temps, mais Ronald Haasjes a été le seul patineur à être avec Ariëns jusqu’à la fin. Ariëns s’est imposé au sprint. Haasjes et Ruben Ligtenberg ont complété le podium.

Chez les femmes, l'expérimentée Manon Kamminga a remporté l’or. La patineuse de 28 ans a pris un tour d’avance sur ses compétitrices très tôt dans la course pour s’assurer la victoire. Beau Wagemaker et Gerline Crediet ont complété le podium féminin.

Kamminga and Ariëns victorious at the KNSB marathon cup finale

The KNSB marathon cup ended this weekend in Otterloo, Netherlands.

The sixth and last event of the KNSB cup saw its two overall champions get crowned for the 2018 season.

Kamminga sprinted to victory
Manon Kamminga’s fast sprint allowed her to won the ladies' marathon in Otterloo and take the first place of the KNSB cup ranking for the 2018 season.  Imke Vormeer and Gerline Crediet completed the marathon cup podium.

Ariëns continued his domination

Crispijn Ariens from Okay fashion & jeans continued his great season by winning the KNSB cup finale this weekend. He lapped the pack once before attacking them a second time to win with a big gap. This win in Otterloo confirmed his victory in the overall ranking of the marathon cup ahead of Marthijn Mulder and Gerwin Smit.  

Mulder and Crediet victorious in the young classification

Marthijn Mulder and Gerline Crediet who are both on the overall podium won the 21 years old and younger classification for the KNSB cup. Mulder won the Ostrava World Inline Cup earlier this season. You should keep an eye on him in the next few seasons!

Kamminga et Ariëns victorieux à la finale de la KNSB cup

La KNSB cup des marathons de roller a pris fin ce weekend à Oterloo aux Pays-Bas.

La sixième et dernière étape de la KNSB cup a permis de couronner des champions au classement cumulatif de la saison 2018.

Kamminga sprint vers la victoire

Le classement féminin étant très serré, cette sixième étape allait déterminer qui serait couronné grande championne. Avec sa belle victoire au sprint à Otterloo, Manon Kamminga s’est propulsée en tête du classement de la KNSB cup 2018. Imke Vormeer et Gerline Crediet ont complété le podium féminin au cumulatif.

Ariëns continue sa domination

Crispijn Ariens de Okay fashion & jeans a continué sa belle saison sur le circuit néerlandais en l’emportant lors de la finale de la KNSB cup. Il a pris un tour d’avance complet sur le peloton pour ensuite attaquer à nouveau et franchir la ligne d’arrivée avec une énorme avance. Cette victoire lui a permis de remporter définitivement le classement général du circuit de compétition. Au cumulatif des six épreuves, Marthijn Mulder et Gerwin Smit ont respectivement pris le deuxième et le troisième rang.

Marthijn Mulder et Gerline Crediet, tous deux sur le podium au cumulatif, trônent au sommet du classement des jeunes de la KNSB cup. Rappelons-nous que Mulder a remporté la Coupe du monde d'Ostrava de belle façon plus tôt cette saison. Il sera encore à surveiller dans les prochaines saisons.

Round up: June 05, 2018 - Roll’Athlon 100 and KNSB marathon cup #3

A couple of inline speed skating events were raced during the weekend. Here’s our recap of two of them: the Roll’Athlon 100 and the KPN cup #3 in Achterveld.

Pouydebat and Fernandez took home victories at the Roll'Athlon 100

The 2018 Roll’Athlon 100, an ultramarathon of 103 km that is raced in France every year, was held last weekend. In the men’s race, Ewen Fernandez from the Rollerblade speed team won the race and established a new event record with a time of 2h43. Six minutes later, his teammate on the Rollerblade team, Guillaume de Mallevoue, crossed the finish line to take the second place. The third position was won by Olivier Blanc from team Sokola who won the pack sprint for bronze. In the ladies’ race, Juliette Pouydebat took 25 minutes on her closest rival to won the event. Pouydebat is a serious medal hopeful at the upcoming world championships when it comes to French ladies and she proved she was in good form this weekend. Karine Urvoy-Malle and Sabrina Gaudesaboos completed the podium.

Hoolwerf and Ariens put on a show in Achterveld

The third stage of the KNSB marathon cup was also raced this weekend in the Netherlands. In the ladies’ race, 29 years old Imke Vormeer surprised everyone including herself with her first victory ever in a KNSB cup event. Elsemieke van Maaren and Ramona Westerhuis respectively finished second and third. Okay fashion and jeans skaters Bart Hoolwerf and Crispijn Ariens put on quite a show with a spectacular sprint to the finish line. Hoolwerf and Ariens, who were in a breakaway together, decided to sprint the last straight line to impress the crowd. Hoolewerf finally won it by a bit in front of his teammate Ariens. Gerwin Smit, who’s already in good position in the KNSB cup classification, managed to finish in third position.

Plusieurs événements ont eu lieu ce weekend dans le monde du roller. Voici notre résumé de deux de ces compétitions: Le Roll’Athlon 100 et la KNSB cup d’Achterveld.

Pouydebat et Fernandez triomphent au Roll'Athlon 100

Le Roll’Athlon, un ultra marathon de 103 kilomètres couru en France, se tenait le weekend dernier. Du côté masculin, Ewen Fernandez de Rollerblade a établi le nouveau record de l’événement avec un rapide temps de 2h43 qui lui a permis de remporter l’épreuve. Six minutes plus tard, suivait son coéquipier de Rollerblade Guillaume de Mallevoue. La troisième position a été prise au sprint par Olivier Blanc du team Sokola. Chez les dames, c’est Juliette Pouydebat, l’un des meilleurs espoirs de médaille pour la France chez les femmes aux prochains mondiaux, qui s’est imposée avec plus de 25 minutes d’avance sur Karine Urvoy-Malle et Sabrina Gaudesaboos qui ont complété le podium.

Hoolwerf et Ariens offrent un spectacle à Achterveld

La troisième manche de la KNSB cup des marathons aux Pays-Bas se déroulait également ce weekend à Achterveld. La patineuse de 29 ans Imke Vormeer a surpris tout le monde lors de la course féminine, incluant elle-même, en remportant sa première étape de la KNSB cup en carrière. Elsemieke van Maaren et Ramona Westerhuis ont respectivement pris le deuxième et troisième rang du marathon. Les patineurs d’Okay fashion jeans, Bart Hoolwerf et Crispijn Ariens, ont offert un spectacle aux amateurs présents à la ligne d’arrivée avec un impressionnant sprint dans la course des hommes. Les deux patineurs, qui étaient en échappée à deux, ont convenu de jouer la victoire au sprint pour épater la galerie. Hoolwerf l’a finalement emporté de peu sur son coéquipier. Gerwin Smit, déjà bien positionné dans le classement de la KNSB cup, a terminé au 3e rang.

L'équipe néerlandaise est maintenant connue

L’équipe nationale néerlandaise de roller a été officiellement annoncée avec un peu plus d’un mois à faire avant les Vhampionnats du monde qui se dérouleront à Heerde.

Le pays hôte des Championnats du monde aura une solide équipe menée par des vétérans comme Crispijn Ariens, Gary Hekman et Manon Kamminga. Ils seront également rejoint par les olympiens en longue piste Ronald et Michel Mulder et des jeunes prometteurs comme Luc ter Haar, Elisa Dul et les frères Rick et Kay Schipper.

The inline Dutch national team was officially confirmed with a bit more than one month to go before World championships.

The host country of the 2018 World championships will have a solid team led by some veterans such as Crispijn Ariens, Gary Hekman and Manon Kamminga. They will also be joined by long track speed skating olympian Ronald & Michel Mulder and some impressive young skaters like Luc ter Haar, Elisa Dul and the Schipper brothers Rick and Kay.

Results from the Dutch marathon championship

The Dutch marathon championship was raced this weekend in Waarland.

The winners of this marathon raced in Waarland had the chance to secure their place on the Dutch team for the European and World championships

Ariens and Roosenboom won in the seniors

Crispijn Ariens from Okay fashion & jeans who was the favorite to win the race, won the marathon with a long breakaway in solo that made him cross the finish line in first position. He maintained a strong pace for more than 15 laps out of 29 to beat a competitive chasing group. Casper de Gier and Chris Huizinga finished 2nd and 3rd.

Even if there were many attacks in the ladies race, it all ended with a sprint. Bianca Roosenboom from XL tulips - Powerslide was the fastest in the last straight line and finished in first ahead of of Elsemieke van Maaren and Lisa van der Geest.
