If the majority of the top teams weren't there this weekend, Arma racing had almost all of their skaters competing and they put on a good show for the inline speed skating fans.
Peter Michael triumph in the men’s category
New Zealand’s Peter Michael, who joined the Arma racing team this season, took the overall victory in Wörgl this weekend. The Kiwi won both long distances and took two third place finishes in the 1000m and the 500m. Livio Wenger who, like we were the first to announce, signed with Arma at the beginning of the season, ends the weekend in second place behind his teammate. Another Arma skater, Josh Whyte, finished in third position of the overall ranking.
Mareike Thum on top of the ladies' competition
World games' champion in 2018, Germany's Mareike Thum, offered a great performance in the ladies' competition by winning the 1000m, the elimination race and the overall ranking. Her teammates Giulia Bongiorno and Larissa Gaiser finished second and third in the overall ranking. Just like in the men’s category, the Arma Arena Geisingen team took the three spots available on the ladies' overall podium.
A first one for Larissa Gaiser
On saturday’s points race, 19 years old Larissa Gaiser from Germany got her first big win in the senior category. Gaiser, for whom this is a first season as a senior athlete, won the 5000m points race with 7 points.
The majority of these skaters are preparing for the World championships that will be held in Heerde from the 1st of July to the 7th .
