We had the chance to see some pretty exciting World cup events in Calgary and Salt Lake City! The best skaters in the world are now back on track in Almaty for the third World cup of the season. Stars of the first two legs like Suzanne Schulting, Alyson Charles, Natalia Maliszewska and the Liu Brothers will be some of the skaters you should watch this weekend. Veterans Kim Boutin from Canada and Semen Elistratov from Russia will make their 2018-2019 World cup debut this weekend after missing the first two legs of the season. It will be interesting to compare them with the other skaters and to see in what kind of shape they will be.

Sarault and Wu stayed at home
Rising Canadian star Courtney Sarault who had good results in her first World cup events in career will not be racing this weekend. She’ll pass on World cup 3 in order to have the best preparation possible for the World junior championships that will be held in Montréal later this season. A big name that will also skip this World cup is China’s Wu Dajing who all three 500m events raced this season.
