Bart Swings wins his 6th Berlin marathon

Bart Swings and Katharina Rumpus won the 2018 Inline speed skating Berlin marathon today in Germany.

Bart Swings, Ewen Fernandez and Nolan Beddiaf, three of the favorites to claim victory this weekend, managed to escape the pack and work together in the front to distance the other skaters. Towards the end, Bart Swings started a long sprint and was able to cross the finish line before his two rivals. Bart Swings' victory at the 2018 Berlin Marathon represents his 6th win at this event. He finished with a time of 57:58. Ewen Fernandez and Nolan Beddiaf completed the men's podium. 

In the ladies' race, Katharina Rumpus from Powerslide won the pack sprint in front of her teammate Sandrine Tas and Bont's skater Francesca Lollobrigida. Rumpus crossed the finish line with a time of 1:09,15.
