An injury following a fall during yesterday's training session would be the cause of her absence on this first day of competition. The important competition is spread on five days including this weekend, this upcoming Wednesday and next weekend.

13:44- St-Gelais will be out for the entire competition. She will most likely get a pass for the Olympic games anyway considering she has been the strongest skater in the country for many years now.
