The best long track speed skaters are in Erfurt, Germany for the fifth ISU World cup event of the season.

It was 500m day for everybody in Erfurt on day 1. The ladies also raced the 1000m and the men competed on 1500m.
500m
The competition started with the 500m distance. In the ladies competition, Karolina Erbanova got gold as she skated a fast 37.82 time to beat Vanessa Herzog and Angelina Golikova.
In the men's race, Pavel Kulizhnikov from Russia, Michel Mulder from the Netherlands and Artyom Kuznetsov also from Russia stepped on the podium of the distance.
Ladies 1000m
It was a Dutch domination in the ladies 1000m as four skaters from the Netherlands got in the top 7. Jorien Ter Mors won the distance. Her teammate Marrit Leenstra finished second while Yekaterina Shikhova from Russia finished in third place.
Men's 1500m
Denis Yuskov continued his great season with another 1500m victory. Sverre Lunde Pederson and Marcel Bosker completed the podium.
Racing continues tomorrow with the second 500m and the 1500m for the ladies. The men will race on the 1000m and the 5000m distances.
