The fifth World cup event of the season continued today in Erfurt.

On day 2, the ladies skated on 500m and 1500m as the men raced on 1000m and 5000m.
Ladies' 500m (2)
Vanessa Herzog was the fastest in the second 500m of the competition with a time of 37.88. Karolina Erbanova who finished first in the first event yesterday finished second and Olga Fatkulina took third place.
Men’s 1000m
Kjeld Nuis won gold in the 1000m event as he was faster than his teammate Hein Otterspeer and Mika Poutala from Finland. Havard Lorentzen finished fourth and will keep his first position in the World cup classification.
Men’s 5000m
The Norwegian Sverre Lunde Pederson finished with a time of 6:14.66 and shattered the competition in the 5000m. This performance is the new track record! Nicola Tumolero from Italy got his first ever individual world cup medal with the silver. Ted-Jan Bloemen from Canada completed the podium with the bronze. Bloemen is still on top of the long distances overall classification.
Ladies' 1500m
On 1500m, Ireen Wust and Marrit Leenstra from the Netherlands finished in first and second position in front of Ida Njatun from Norway.
