The 2017 World roller games championships are now over. A lot of skaters will be happy about their competition and some will try to turn the page on a rough week of racing.

A select group of ladies
Yesenia Escobar Ramirez world champion road
Fabriana Arias Perez from Colombia, who we targeted at the start of the season as one of our favourite, impressed again in these championships. The Italian star Francesca Lollobrigida, who almost won everything at the european championships, continued her amazing season by adding three world champion titles to her collection. Sandrine Tas from Belgium was in good shape and stepped on a few podiums. The sprint portion of the competition was dominated by the colombian ladies. Yesenia Escobar Ramirez was flying on the road as she won the 100m and the one lap sprint. Her teammates Anhlly Perez and Andrea Canon also had their moment of glory.

Diversified competition in the men’s
nolan beddiaf and patxi peula world champions
Only Nolan Beddiaf was able to win two world champion titles in the senior men’s competition. Some skaters like Patxi Peula, Ioseba Fernandez and Daniel Niero stepped on more than one podium. Beddiaf from France made a perfect race in the road elimination and was also the first to cross the finish line in the marathon. The German Felix Rijhnen executed a perfectly timed attack in the 10k point race to win his first world champion title.

For some skaters it marks the end of the season but for others there are still races to come. It will soon be the Berlin marathon, the event that closes the 2017 world inline cup. Some of the skaters that took part in this world championships are now aiming for the Pyeongchang Olympics on the ice.

As always, feel free to share this article to promote our beloved sport! Visibility is the key to bring inline speedskating forward.
